Consulting was engaged to provide Council with an independent assessment of the
ability of Council controlled bushland sites to sustain trail based outdoor
recreation, with particular emphasis on mountain bike (MTB) riding.

Consulting undertook an assessment of the inherent environmental values and
condition of Council controlled bushland reserves, and the management
requirements to ensure these values are appropriately preserved under a mixed
use scenario. The assessment was to be
utilised by Council to identify the environmental values inherent within
bushland reserves; understand the social, recreational and economic values able
to be provided by bushland reserves; and to fully understand the level, type
and impact potential of trail based outdoor recreation activities are able to
be supported by bushland reserves.
