Green IT
Justin Miller is the owner of Miller IT Consulting and a qualified ecoBiz
facilitator for implementing green information technologies, through DERM Queensland. He is experienced in monitoring and reporting
on current systems and improving energy efficiencies through server
consolidation into high-density blade solutions, virtualization using VMWare
Virtual Infrastructure, data de-duplication with Avamar backup appliances and
energy management applications such as Verdiem.
ecoBiz auditing
Lloyd Consulting is an ecoBiz Eco-Efficiency Partner and Dr Greg Swain,
Trevor Lloyd and Justin Miller are licensed ecoBiz Auditors.
Ecobiz is a Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM) run, voluntary partnership
program with QLD business and industry. In becoming an ecoBiz partner,
organizations must undergo an audit. This is done on a yearly basis internally,
and then reviewed on-site by an ecoBiz facilitator. The audit process (over a
year period) involves the establishment of a baseline of resource use (e.g.
water, energy and materials) through a site assessment and desktop/document
review. The next step is the establishment of an action plan through consultation, then
implementation of the actions and finally re-assessment. The audit process is
recorded, step by step, in an ecoBiz Audit Spreadsheet and submitted for review and certification to DERM.
