Strategic Planning & Facilitation
Project Description
The Gold Coast Water Strategic Planning Process built on an existing strategic actions framework, through a systematic audit of progress, to form the basis of a strategic planning workshop.
Services Provided
Trevor Lloyd was given the role of facilitating an investigation of existing (and new) Strategic Actions, with a focus on improving business processes through the review and prioritisation of strategies, projects and day-to-day programs. This project also involved the introduction of environmental due diligence and risk assessment procedures to the process and the documentation of strategic planning outputs.
Urban Watercycle Organisational Review
Project Description
The Gold Coast City Council Organisational Review project involved the review of the strategic objectives and corporate structure options relating to the management of the urban water cycle in Gold Coast City.
Services Provided
Trevor Lloyd and the team from Lloyd Consulting were engaged to undertake the following tasks;
- Research to obtain information on other current and emerging models of water cycle management.
- Stakeholder interviews to discuss key issues, concerns and obtain background information and documentation.
- Design and facilitation of a stakeholder workshop to define strategic outcomes to prepare a consolidated basis for subsequent analysis tasks.
- Development of key criteria for evaluating appropriate future organisational arrangements for managing urban water cycle functions by GCCC - to define a series of robust, relevant and agreed benchmarks against which alternative organisational models for urban water cycle management may be compared and evaluated.
- Development, description and analysis of a series of future organisational structure and service delivery options for change (minimum of three) using the endorsed criteria to develop a strong, defensible argument to support the recommendation of one preferred option.
- Review and reform of organisational models for other entities, from both the local government and private sectors.
- Development of an implementation plan including a change management plan.
- Facilitation of a series of internal workshops to present, explain and gain acceptance of the findings of the report.
- Contribute key information related to technical best practice considerations.
Key skills contributed to the project include research and input of industry knowledge, system and process auditing, criteria framework development and assessment, stakeholder consultation, facilitation and reporting.
