Project development, planning and management
Leona completed
a thesis in project management entitled Project
Management Review and has given project
support on a number of high level Environmental Impact Statements (EIS's) and
Baseline Studies throughout Queensland, working as part of a multidisciplinary
team of scientists, engineers and consultants. Skills developed include time and
cost management and the ability to maintain a high standard of critical data
analyses.
Having worked as
a consultant in the air quality sector, Leona has a strong knowledge of
environmental legislation, guidelines and policies relating to air quality. Her
expertise includes project development, coordination and management for air
quality related research projects including: Air toxins, PM10, dust deposition
and regional condition/environmental values reporting.
This includes background studies, resourcing, and reporting, corporate
documentation, contracting and project team support including communications, documentation
and people management.
Environmental
research, assessment & reporting
Leona has had broad practical experience in scientific
research, data collation and analysis and report writing. She has assisted in various
studies into air quality with specific projects related to dust deposition, PM10,
and air toxins. Leona has experience in conducting baseline studies for the
preparation of EIS's including reporting the results for review by government
authorities.
Office
Environmental Management Systems
Leona has
practical experience in formulating, conducting and implementing office
auditing. This included reporting, researching and recommending innovative
solutions to the company. She has strategised in her previous employment in
assisting the company with ISO 140001 compliance. Whilst in this role she has
liaised effectively with government and community groups to achieve positive
outcomes.
