Dr
Alistair Melzer has extensive experience in flora and fauna surveys associated
with the coal mining industry. These include:
Curragh
(1996), Gregory coal mine (1996),
Poitrel (1996), South
Walker Creek
(1996, 1998 & 1999), Suttor Creek (1998) Newlands (2002, 2003), Olive Downs
Mining Lease, Moranbah (2004), proposed Sonoma Coal Mining Lease (2004), Callide
coal mine (2006), Moorvale Coal (2006), Eastern Creek (2007) and Sarum Creek
(2007).
Services Provided
These
projects involved:
- baseline audits of flora
and fauna;
- vegetation mapping and
providing indications of rehabilitation success;
- assessment of threatening
processes; and
- reports, including
recommendations on management and discussions of the relative significance
of species and ecosystems found on site.
